Basically, I'm looking for developer time and expertise to help us develop an API to to the NIH 3D Print Exchange (3DPX): The 3DPX is a Drupal-based website that uses custom PHP and Python code to import data from various sources, run that data through some open-source processing algorithms, and produce 3D models suitable for 3D printing. Once created, these models and their associated metadata then populate nodes of a custom content type in our Drupal website. We want to build an API to allow 3rd-party software to directly submit models created in that software to the 3DPX. The API should also permit batch submission of external database codes for processing by our tools (those tools and the ability to process the external database codes already exist; the API would simply allow submission of those codes by machine). Finally, the API should permit data to flow out of the 3DPX to other applications.
