I\'m looking for someone to create a parser that will access a financial web site, read currency prices from the web page, perform some calculations, and then display the results in a separate table (I\'d like this data to be written to a local file as well). The tool _will not submit_ anything to the web site.\r\n\r\nThe technical approach to use is open. We have been researching on using Perl with some HTML parsers as well as Jsoup (Java). I\'ve used Firefox\'s Greasemonkey and I think this would be the way to go due to how the web site presents its data in the web browser. Also, please see the attached screenshot (JPG).\r\n\r\nPlease contact me for more details if this is something you can undertake.

you can use any popular programming language such as Java, Python, PHP, Perl to do the job. I personally use python/scrapy to do the task. get data from website and save it into MySQL database. no GUI involved.

Dear Employer, I have more than 10 years of experience with Perl so for me the program itself wont be a problem. Data scraping is also in my field, and I provided already the same kind of scraper previously. You can check my comments on this page http://www.freelancer.com/u/keyconcept01.html Now, other members may not have noticed, but the page in your sample is using JQuery. It could be difficult to get the data depending on how the site was built, so to adjust the bid, could you please provide the URL so that I can have a look and start to analyze the website.
