Design of a B2C e-commerce website

| We are a start-up division of a mattress manufacturer who will be marketing mattresses & pillows on the internet. We’ve developed our site content but need the layout, design & functionality. One site we like the feel of is Tempur-Pedic's site. Please take a look at the [[login to view URL]][1] site. Our site will approximately be the same size. We’re looking for an almost identical feel & design, but not too close where it's copied. If you have any ideas on enhancing the site to make it superior to TempurPedic, please add thiat in your proposal as well. Our thoughts were to have the photographer get the raw photos of our mattressess & send them to you, where you photoshop them into beautifully tranquil settings (similar to Tempur-Pedic) mirage backgrounds. You should also be able to provide stock photos of model couples & beautiful model women laying in bed all lovy-dovy, etc. This will also be an e-commerce site, & will be looking for what software you propose to use (custom, 1shoppingcart, etc.) We would like flash on the homepage, and the site SEO optomized. We have spoken with several website developers, yet they all fall back to "boxy pictures" as graphics design is usually not their primary skill. You should be extremely proficient in Photoshop, able to create site images without using templates. The background scenery should be eye-popping, inviting, yet tranquil & relaxing. It should instill a feeling of calmness and relaxation, almost like a luxury spa. It’s also important that the background doesn’t take the emphasis off the mattresses. ** More under Platform section** | | | | ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Please include proposed platform in your proposal along with why you have chosen it over others. You should be able to provide / create 7-10 different tranquil background settings. We're looking for is design creativity; not typical "square box" pictures that make most sites medocre. Summary: a site similar to Tempur-pedic’s with similar pages, sub-pages; same tranquil feeling & no clutter without being too identical. Please provide quote along with what it covers, suggestions, timeframe, and what you feel you can bring to the table to enhance this project. Also, artistic style is important & we'd want to make sure we were on the same page with style. If chosen, we will require a 1pg mock up in a tranquil setting mirage (background the mattress & bed image will be presented on, in the catalog). If you charge for the mock up, please list that price as well in your proposal.
