desktop shortcut

Hello I have a small exe file and the Visual C++ source code. When executed it copies itself in a specified location and add a shortcut link on desktop. This function works only for Windows XP. I need a function that worls on XP and Vista too. To resume the function has to copy the exe on a specified location on hard disk and add a shortcut on desktop linked to the copied exe.
