This is a truly interesting project if you like consuming XML web services and travel:
The project is to build a system that offers a user realistic flight options from Kayak based on when they must be at certain places, accounting (roughly) for driving, check-in etc.. The attachmented document details what it to be built.
Must develop in ASP.NET with web interface and be able to consume XML web services from Kayak and a mapping application. Also requires SQL 2005 knowledge to store the results and selections. The kayak xml api is fairly simple and available at: <[login to view URL]>
You should store all offered options so that we can later do analysis of what was the cheapest option that could have worked and compare that to what the user selected.
Bonus if you can implement the kayak-like sliders that lets the user narrow down each option by price, departure time, arrival time, airports (leaving and arriving), duration, number of stops and/or airports. Nice if you can have it refresh with ajax upon these filters, but not necessary -- a page refresh there would work as well.
ALL KAYAK SEARCHES SHOULD BE AS ONE-WAY TICKETS TO MAKE THIS EASIER. So run your searches for each segment one at a time.
