I have a gridview where I am loading some data with an image in a single templatefield. The image is loaded in the RowDataBound as it needs to do some binding and other checks. What I am trying to implement is a show more button at the bottom of the grid to load the next 10 results in the grid. The problem is that I do not want to bind the data because then the rowdatabound event is going to get called again for the first 10 results which I dont want because the image binding takes some time to process. I just want to be able to append the next 10 results by calling the database to get the data and then only call the rowdatabound for those new results while leaving the first 10 results as is. Need help in figuring out the best process and method to do this. First person to show me a working example of what I want will win the bid. Should be a very simple project for an expert .net developer. Good luck

Hi, Is there any specific reason you are looking for GridView solution? I can implement this using knockout JS without the overhead of ViewState and great performance. If you want, I can even guide you on how to achieve sorting using knock out js if you only wanted default functionality of grid view. I know you asked for a working solution on the bid, but this is not a contest and I will start work on this only if you award the project to me. Thanks. You have not mentioned ASP.Net in the skills required however reading your description seems that this a ASP.Net website / webproject. Please award the bid so that I can start work immediately.

I dont have working proposal of this as you requested though im sure there are much simplier and easier solutions to be able to get round your issue. As you say you are loading the image, which takes some time, in the rowDataBound Event. Then why not just move it out of there and into its own little function? Then call this as and when needed? Or even simply have a flag in your rowDataBound event that will do something like the following.... private sub Grid_RowDataBound (sender as object, e as args) 'do some code stuff if not mblnImageLoaded then LoadImage() mblnImagedLoaded = true end if end sub I.E. if you have loaded the image then don't load it again.
