The project goal is to have the ability to record using a webcam and microphone the video / audio from a laptop / desktop and record it locally and be able to play it back. There are many limitations in technology that makes this very hard. To make this easier we can use Google Chrome Only AND we can build a Chrome Extension / plugin. We tried to do this in a browser only and it did not work because it was very hard to make the Video / Audio combined into 1 file and be able to play it back. We want to be able to record client side - so the user could record their video / audio and play it back without having to transcode or stream to a server. The user would then be able to SAVE - and this is where we can transcode and send the movie file (MP4 preferred) to a "cloud" storage.
