Hi The least important part is your point 1, with respect with your second point, the first concern is about connecting the arduino to internet and login to your website, the arduino is not capable to create a secure connection (https) and you will transmit username and password in plain text. Also, you have the requirement to be able to upload animations and symbols to each arduino connected to the user domain, then you will need several things: 1. Arduino 2. Wifi shield 3. Display Shield (in general have a slot to connect an SD card) 4. NFC tag reader or RFID reader. Then we can choose between two different approach, mix the communication system with the display and sensors (NFC/RFID reader) or separate them. Also the selection of the communication protocol, that at first I'm thinking on the use of MQTT that is supported by the arduino and also by the esp8266 wifi module, the esp8266 wifi module have included a memory of 4MB, in some cases can be enough to store the symbols and animations. Probably all can be programmed in a esp8266 wifi module and remove the requirement of the arduino, all depend on the sensors, display and requirements. In the esp8266 the MQTT support SSL encryption and username, password authentication. For now, for tests, I have the arduino nano and the esp8266 module, but I need to get the RFID reader. Also you can collect other data like humidity and temperature
