I like your idea of living simply.
I once did a retreat in a Buddhist temple in Japan where the go-go lifestyle as I knew it grounded to a screeching halt. No cellphones, no internet, no communication to the outside world. In fact, we weren't even allowed to speak. We all had chores to do: cleaning, cooking and tending the yard. My job was to "cut" the grass with my bare hands. We had this little patch of grass about one square foot we were responsible for. Each blade of grass had to be individually shorten with our fingers. We had two hours of that in the afternoon.
For each article, I would bring in a Zen proverb or quotation from a famous person to illustrate the point.
For example, the quotation from the great Zenrin Kushu: "Sitting quietly, doing nothing, Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself." could emphasize the point of "down time" at work or school.
Or similarly, from Einstein himself on the first rule of work: "Out of clutter, find simplicity."
My bid of $350 is for ten articles deliverable one per week. I've suggested some possible titles for the first four articles below in the proposed milestones.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards,
David Chau
