My name is Abhishek Rakshit and I am an MBA grad (Power Management) from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). I specialize in research and strategic analysis of the entire value chain of the energy sector, which includes oil & gas, coal, conventional power and renewables. I have had domain knowledge of working in other industries as well which includes fertilisers, cement, sponge iron, steel, bauxite and iron ore. I have been instrumental in developing and managing an extensive set of databases related to power plant, coal mines and global oil refinery. I have an extensive exposure in content and report writing, developing financial models, asset due-diligence and valuation models, market entry plans and strategy developments for access into energy sector, and assessment and analysis of coal market dynamics. Some of my major project work includes assessment of Indian thermal coal supply outlook, analysis of Indian low rank coal demand outlook, development of Indian coal imports and port stocks model, assessment of gas market demand and monetization strategy in North-East India, power project benchmarking for SAARC region, development of multi-fuel financial model for captive/cogeneration power projects including asset due diligence and valuation, etc. I have also worked on projects involving potential assessment of Indian renewable energy market, along with carbon market dynamics.
