ASP recursive

I got a following table: col1 col2 col3 1 A 0 2 B 1 4 C 2 6 D 5 7 E 6 5 F 4 8 G 7 userid = 8 amt = 100 If a user searches for "8", and amt value 100, the program will look at the col1 that has "8" then it will get a value in col3 "7", then the program will continue to search for "1" in col1 & it will get "0" in col3, & so on. So it will print out: 8 G 7 100 7 E 6 100 6 D 5 100 5 F 4 100 4 C 2 100 2 B 1 100 1 A 0 100 I would like written in ASP classic and update the results into a amt field table bonus update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 7 update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 6 update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 5 update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 4 update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 2 update bonus set amt=100 where idnum like 1 .................... userid = 4 amt = 50 If a user search for "4", it will print out: 4 C 2 50 2 B 1 50 1 A 0 50 I would like written in ASP classic and update the results into a amt field table bonus update bonus set amt=50 where idnum like 2 update bonus set amt=50 where idnum like 1 ....................
