Custom Checkout Module for Magento

We need a module, easily installed, that makes a REST call to another server (our server, running a RoR app we created in-house) after the user has checked out in order to deliver the virtual product. The module must also add a field to products for the id of the virtual product on our end. The REST call only shall be made for any products where that field is filled out (so users can still sell other things that don't have to do with us as well).

## Deliverables

We have REST interface in our existing (RoR) app that allows end-users to purchase access to videos and courses by providing a few parameters via POST, such as the end-user's e-mail, the product id(s) that will be purchased (quantity not needed at this time) and an API key for our b2b customers to use. We need customers who have a magento-based site to be able to easily integrate ability to purchase from our app into their store. There should be an additional field in products that are to be purchased from our site that specifies the product id (which our customer will find out by logging in the admin feature of our app), and upon checkout, after the purchase has been approved, magento needs to send the request for any products that are to be delivered from our store that may be in the cart. A pretty straightforward xml will be returned that shows if there were errors or details about the user created (if applicable) and other objects created otherwise. This should be used to notify the user or admin that something was wrong. Note that this interface is simply to create/deliver the products. When using it, there is no e-commerce function on our side (i.e., no credit card processing or storing of orders).
