In our initial study, we translated the SWLS using transliteration and back-translation procedures, and tested the equivalence of Romanian and English versions of the SWLS with the bilingual retest technique. In our second study, we established some of the psychometric properties of the Romanian SWLS, including its factor structure.

We conducted two studies for the improvement of the Romanian IPIP-50, in which the translation has tested, psychometric properties of Romanian IPIP-50 were further tested and we replicated to a large degree some of the findings of the previous study of Romanian IPIP-50 adaptation.

We sought to bridge the gap in the literature between general causality orientations and psychological well-being by examining the relationship between these variables in a sample of 76 (18 men and 58 women) currently enrolled or recently graduated European and Eurasian university students between 18 and 35 years old.

After developing Consciousness Quotient Inventory - CQI (Brazdau, 2009), research showed the need for improvement. The purpose of the current studies was to adapt and improve the CQI by revealing how demographically heterogeneous participant group (N=12) cognitively evaluate the life situations described by the CQI items. The CQI was revised two times in the light of the newest literature on conscious experience (Study #1) and using Willis’ cognitive interviewing methodology (1999).

Updating cross-cultural research of the past decade on the relationship between life aspirations and wellbeing, we compared Romanian (N¼69) and US (N¼64) undergraduates on the contribution of the importance and likelihood of attaining intrinsic and extrinsic aspirations to psychological maladjustment and life satisfaction, and on the qualitative meaning they assign to financial success.
