I am an experienced freelance editor, writer and creative from the UK.

I have worked in publishing for over six years, primarily in the children's book and ebook market for the internationally bestselling Ripley's Believe It or Not! I am now travelling the world, after having worked for the company in the US office for two months. I am working now as a freelance editor, proofreader, writer and creative. I am excellent at creating and committing to schedules, and I am enthusiastic and dynamic. I have a degree in English and History, a postgraduate diploma in Journalism and various other proofreading and copy-editing qualifications under my belt. I am also a singer/songwriter and could not live without music!

I have played an integral part in a small team at Ripley Publishing to establish Ripley's Believe It or Not! as award-winning internationally bestselling books. I joined as Editorial Assistant, after two years became Assistant Editor, and after three Project Editor, overseeing and training an Editorial Assistant. I have gained wide-ranging experience as an editor, from researching and deciding on content, to commissioning and reviewing text, as well as running exhibitions, photo shoots, and book launches. I also worked in the US office in Florida for two months towards the end of my career at Ripley's - working as an editorial consultant on the new office in Orlando, Florida.

I took an advanced journalism qualification called a Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism, after working at various magazines for work experience I undertook this course, and received training in shorthand, feature writing, news writing, copy-editing, law in journalism, business of magazines and other subject areas associated with the industry.

The main annuals have been published for over 12 years now, and I worked as part of a small team to create these books. Every annual has brand new material, images, and goes through a rigorous editing process, or which I was a key part of.

I created the content, schedule and ran all three of these titles. They are children's titles filled with Fun Facts and Silly Stories, and incredible pictures - based around the brand Ripley's Believe It or Not! I helped to establish the series, find authors, proofread the text and rewrite any text that needed rewriting.
