## BIO
Over the past two years, I've spent my time finishing development of a large-scale healthcare management system on Windows Server with Java/J2EE, Tomcat, and SQL Server 2005. The application is an advanced, AJAX-heavy "web desktop", mimicking a full desktop inside a web browser. It's similar in concept to extjs' web desktop example, if you're familiar. It provides a number of facilities, including transactions processing, sales reporting and sales trend-tracking features, commissions processing for sales representatives, contract management, and so on. The position itself has been challenging, having no previous Java experience (and minimal AJAX experience) and little available help. However, I've managed to take an application that was previously heavily incomplete, and fix all major bugs. I've increased security and cross-browser compatibility. It now functions correctly in all major web browsers (IE 7, IE 8, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome). For future releases, plans are in the works to better support mobile phone platforms. I also recently spent some time doing security penetration testing for a startup company in Boston. Previously, I was involved for four years writing software for a small web shop (using mod_perl, DBI, Apache, MySQL.) Then I moved positions from a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl instead of PHP) shop to a C#, VB.NET, SQL Server, and Windows Forms/ASP.NET consultancy. In three months time, I was able to solve many build problems and implement a number of complicated components, including: an image viewing component (TIFF/PNG/etc), an embedded Microsoft Word editor, a "sidebar" GUI widget, etc. Throughout my career, I've shown marked excellence in solving security and performance problems in information systems. I've always kept abreast of new security issues that creep up over time and am frequently studying issues related to scalability, reliability, and performance.
