OTHERS Served Junior Red Cross during grades 6, 7 and 8. County library volunteer. EXPERIENCE 1/03 – Present President, Rig Consulting, Inc. [login to view URL] Conceived, designed and developed a trilingual SNMP toolkit for rapid application development (RAD) of NMS applications namely ComSNMP, a SNMP toolkit built on net-snmp 5.0.8 open source code. ComSNMP a short name for ‘Component SNMP’ and is a Programmer’s Toolkit containing set of generic light weight components out of a box for Unix/Win32 platforms which C, C++, and web programmers can use to develop NMS applications requiring SNMP V3. The components will aid Rapid Application Development (RAD) of network management software platforms or enhance existing software to support SNMP V3. Programmers can use either the COM components (ideal for scripting languages) or link statically to the component libraries (ideal for C, C++ applications). The components go beyond being just being RFC compliant in that programmers can focus on the NMS application development and not worry too much about how SNMP works. Some of the method calls address what has been done over and again in an attempt to optimize performance, for example using a single PDU to get response for multiple SNMP Objects. Founded Rig Consulting, Inc in January 2003. Responsible for the Business and Engineering aspects of the company including operations management, software licenses and product releases. Environment: HP/UX, Windows 2000, XP, NT; COM, C/C++, TCP/IP, SNMP v1, v2c, v3., net-SNMP 5.0.8 3/02 – 1/03 Senior Developer, R&D Ipswitch, Inc Contributed as a Sr Developer to the product development of WhatsUp Gold product Version 8.0. The specific areas of development included the NT service restart Notification, Event plug-in system; SNMP Traps Configuration; Testing and Documentation reviews. The Event plug-in system rearchitects the asynchronous events handler in the prior version of the product like SNMP Traps and Syslog messages to plug-ins using COM plumbing and DCOM. The Event system enables OEM and third party extensions to support custom Event types. Environment: Windows NT 4.0, 2000 and XP; DCOM, VC++ 6.0, ATL, MFC and TCP/IP based Internet. 6/99 – 7/01 Software Engineer, SCORE/NT Nonstop Solutions Inc. Participated in the product support for the Beta Version of SCORE/NT, the company’s legacy demand chain management software for the NT platform. Maintained an application server that hosted record-locking feature for SCORE calculations. The application server was a concurrent server implemented using VC++, WinSock and pipes. Evaluated ORBIX a CORBA compliant product. Contributed to the SCORE/NT 1.5 by implementing a multi-threaded DCOM Server that runs as an NT Service that hosts the data cache and batch processing functions for the NT version of the product. The data cache enables all connected clients to refresh data in real-time when one client modifies the data. The batch processes enable importing data into SCORE from interfacing host systems, export purchase orders and recalculate purchase orders. Also participated in the development of User Interface. Prototyped a mechanism by which Scripting languages like Visual Basic can access SCORE functions hosted by the NT product using COM. Later involved in the development of the NT front-end for SCORE with AS/400 back-end, and related utilities for NT platform. Environment: Windows NT, DCOM, VC++ 6.0, ATL, MFC, ODBC/Oracle 7.0, TCP/IP based Internet. 6/98 – 2/99 Software Consultant SNMP Agent (Client: Xerox ODPG, Burlington, MA, USA) 8/98 – 2/99 Ported and enhanced the SNMP agent that supports standard MIBs and proprietary MIBs for managing a multi-protocol multi-purpose document printing system. The printer originally used Xerox proprietary kernel and protocol stacks, but was being ported to NT 4.0 (embedded kernel and protocol services) Implemented a proprietary MIB for configuring the network connectivity and print services of the network printer for a host of protocols supported by NT and the printer. The configuration data was mapped to the configuration residing in NT registry. Environment: Windows NT 4.0, WinSock 2.0, VC++ 5.0, TCP/IP based Internet, NT Registry Network Monitoring Agent (Client: Process Software, Framingham, MA, USA) 6/98 – 7/98 Designed and developed a Network Monitoring Agent as a part of IP address management system for Windows NT as a SNMP Extension Agent. The agent supports multiple-address ping and traceroute utilities. Other applications that need to use these utilities send a SNMP get request to initiate ping or traceroute operation and get the results back. Environment: Windows NT 4.0, NT SNMP Service, WinSock 2.0, VC++ 5.0, TCP/IP based Internet. 1/97 – 4/98 Project Lead, Technology R&D HCL Consulting Ltd., Technology R&D Division Network Printer (Client: Samsung Office Automation, Korea) 6/97 – 5/98 Designed and implemented components that run on various Windows 16bit and 32bit platforms to enable network printing to printers equipped with an internal network printer card that support TCP/IP, IPX, AppleTalk protocols and a SNMP agent with standard MIBs and proprietary MIB support for printer and card configuration. Responsible for Specifications, Design, Implementation, Testing and Module Management for the following components those enable network printing from Windows 16bit and 32bit hosts: · Configuration Utility This module is designed to detect printer cards within a LAN segment and across routers; configure and administrate network printer cards and printer; manage network printer ports as Windows ports and monitoring of print jobs targeted to the printers from Windows 3.1x, Windows NT 3.51/4.0 and Windows 95. · Port Monitors This module transports print jobs to the print. The port monitor plugs into the print sub-system and is a DLL on 32bit platforms and a standalone executable on 16bit platforms. · Setup Program to install the above components using InstallShield. Development Environment: Visual Basic 4.0, Visual C++ 4.2, WinSock over TCP/IP and IPX in Windows 3.1x, 95, NT 3.51 and NT 4.0, Century LAN Decoder for testing purposes, InstallShield OLE Wrapper for third-party SDK (Client: FRIC, Japan) 1/97 - 5/97 Designed and implemented an OLE wrapper for a third party SDK for distributed processing. This involved providing a dual-interface, in-process OLE Automation Server for the APIs in the SDK, so that the APIs become accessible from scripted language with OLE support like Visual Basic etc. Some value addition was provided for the API’s to make data structures transparent to the interface users. Responsible for the Design, Implementation and Testing of the dual-interface. Environment: Visual C++ 4.2, COM, OLE 2.0, MIDL for interface specification, Third party SDK on Windows NT 3.51, Visual Basic 4.0 for testing purposes.
