AWS Hosted Wordpress - Issue resolution

Hello, I have been able to configure my AWS EC2 instance, RDS and all using Ubuntu 18.04, PHP 7.3 and Nginx. I performed some updates a few days ago and now I am getting errors. Seems like there is an issue with php being displayed because I have no problem loading website assets. I've tried a lot of standard troubleshooting procedures to no avail. I've also tried modifying the NGINX conf files without any luck. I don't want to use Apache2 as the site is already configured for NGINX.
The ideal solution would be via screen-sharing session so that I can avoid security breaches.
Domain name and method of screen sharing will be discussed after project acceptance.
