1. Network Requirements

A minimum of three networks on different subnets/VLAN will be required

• One for management traffic

• One for storage data traffic

• One for vMotion traffic

The HX management network:

• will handle the hypervisor management and HX management traffic

• will be connected to the vCenter server

• must be routable

The HX data storage network:

• will handle the HX data traffic

• does not need to be routable and can be on a private network

• MTU 9000 should be configured on the uplink

The vMotion network:

• will be configured by the installer (handles vMotion and storage vMotion)

2. vCenter Requirements:

• vCenter 6.0U1 (for factory prepared systems) or vCenter 5.5U3

• Administrator account that has privileges at the root-level and password

3. IP requirements

• v centre server - IP and credentials

• IPS for Data network (7 ips), Management network and VM network (14 ips)

• Ntp server IP

4. 2 ports for uplink and 2 ports for management

5. Deployment Information:

Before deployment of Cisco HX Data Platform and creation of cluster, the vSphere hosts and vCenter server configuration and networking information will be collected to determine Cisco HX Data Platform settings.
