Project Description:

We want a full functional, responsive, mobile compatible website for online bus ticket booking. The users should be able to search for the availability of the buses and then reserve their tickets online.

Here is a reference website similar to what we require: [login to view URL]

Major requirements are listed below:

(i) User module (Front end):

1.) Home page with Search option, sliding image opposite to search, Popular routes with hyperlinks, Customer testimonials

2.) Search for bus ticket specifying from, to locations and journey date, return date (optional)

3) The system lists all the Bus service providers serving the given route and with vacant seats for the given date.

4) The site specifies the boarding point and dropping point (with location and time). Admin should be able to hide Concession field.

4.) Then the seat lay out is displayed and user selects a preferred seat from one of the vacant seats available.

5.) Then user has to input his name, email, contact phn no to register. Ticket purchaser need not be the passenger.

6) Then passenger details like name, age, gender should be specified.

7) Then it should direct the user for payment. Payment Gateway integration & SSI integration has to be done.

8) If the booking and payment is successful, a printable bus ticket should be generated.

9. Send an email to the user’s email account on successful booking

10. Send an SMS to the user’s mobile phone on successful booking with the Ticket number and Journey details

11. Generate an exception message if the booking fails due to Payment failure or due to unsuccessful booking, session expired or time out.

12. User should be able to print ticket at any time from the website by providing his ticket no and mobile no. This option should be present in main top menu under “Print ticket”.

13. Allow the user to cancel a ticket after confirmation by providing ticket no, mobile no and PNR no. Cancellation link should be available in top menu.

14. Social Media integration - Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Instagram

(ii) Admin module:

1. Login Page

2. Dashboard

3. Settings: General; Booking settings: Billing setting, Email and SMS setting, Ticket format editing, Terms & Conditions adding, facility for adding images, content, links on home and other pages

4. Back end User: Add Admin (with all rights) and Editors (limited rights, cannot access Reports, Settings, Back end user type menus)

5. Schedule: Details of Daily Schedules of Buses, Daily Route wise timetables

6. Bookings- Showing booking details of users with date, time of travel/purchase and routes, All Users, Cancelled users, “Add Booking” for manually adding bookings

7. Route Management: Add/Edit/ Delete Cities and routes

8. Bus Management: add/edit/delete/update Buses, Bus type, Seat Lay out, Schedule

9. Reports: MIS booking reports, bus wise report, route wise report, Time scale wise (Daily, Period wise) report, export to excel functionality should be available

10. Backup: It should allow downloading daily backups of the entire data of the site

- Functionality to add an Agent login module should be present which would be incorporated later on in Phase II of the project.

- Website should be user friendly, SEO friendly with Sitemap for easy navigation

- Nice clean website design, Predominantly White and light blue (like facebook)

- Should test all pages for bugs and fix them prior to release

- Make the site SEO compliant and submit to various search engines

- Developer/team should be experienced in creating similar online booking websites with payment gateway integration. If you are interested, please provide portfolio with your completed projects (links only).
