Hi!
I need a logo for a website and business cards. Just a small company at this point in time, but looking to build an online presence.
I just want the logo only (I will sort out the business card myself).
The company is "FIFO Escape" and the website domain name is "[url removed, login to view]"
The aim of the website is to give Australian mine workers a way to replace their income, so they can get out of a dangerous, difficult and soul destroying job.
FIFO is an abbreviation for "Fly In, Fly Out" as most of the workers at minesites these days fly from their home city to the mine, work 12-14 hour days, live at a camp/village and then fly home after 2 weeks (usually). An alternative is DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out).
The work environment is generally extremely hot in summer, cold in winter. Mines are usually located in the desert, isolated from the nearest city by thousands of kilometers.
There are two sides to mining. The mining itself, where workers blast or dig the ore from the ground, either in pits or from underground tunnels and carry it away in giant trucks.
The other side is processing, where the ore is broken up, and then treated through chemical and/or physical processes to release the mineral (gold, iron, lithium, nickel etc.)
Brief:
Target market: Mostly Australian males aged 25-45. High school education, but with a little higher than average intelligence. Technically minded, conservative, physically and mentally tough. Simple sense of humour. Pragmatic and down to earth. Lots of big guys with beards. Not so many women (with or without beards). Usually physical/mechanical work, but can also be laboratory, engineering, kitchen work among others.
Colours: The mining industry in Australia is made up of the colours of steel, rust, stone, dust. Desert and blue skies. The outback. Industrial danger colours are yellow and black (in diagonal stripes), or red. Industrial safety is green (for example, safety showers or first aid boxes). Protective equipment signs (eg. signs that tell you to wear gas maks, hard hats) are blue. My budget is not high, so I would like to limit the colours to two colours plus a background. Would be open to three colours if needed.
I would like to emphasise the "Escape" part of it. I am trying to show these guys how to get out of the mining industry.
Timeframe: One week. Can extend that if required.
Would like the output as a PSD with layers please. If you prefer vector images, that's absolutely fine as long as I can have a copy in PSD as well please.
My apologies for the low budget. I'm unemployed with no income at the moment.
