Design and build of a vocational course comparison site(i.e. a [url removed, login to view] for vocational courses, but with styling similar to airbnb)
- For the design 4 page templates will be needed (home, provider page, search results page, compare page) and a logo
Requirements:
- The site needs to be scalable in terms of capability and content, and with a replicable front end so that multiple sites can be developed to focus on different geographies
- Simple to use CMS, with admin area to allow multiple users to update content dynamically(i.e. no hard coded content) including database entries (partner logos, addresses, URLs etc)
- CMS needs to be optimised for SEO
- Flexible CMS to allow for further development of the site over time, i.e. incorporation of a check out, live chat, new courses and webpages etc.
- SQL database for back end database, with simple interface to allow for new entries to be added and incorporated into the website post development (with no SQL knowledge)
- Key sections to the site include: homepage, contact us, about us, course introduction, course pages (c. 4-5 initially), how to study, college pages (c. 10 initially), news & advice, privacy policy, T&Cs
- Search functionality on the front end similar to expedia, hotcourses etc with 4 categories (simple search on each page, with a more in depth search functionality on the results page – price range, level etc.) . The database will host around 20 columns per course, which will need to feed through to this course search / refinement filter
- Simple results display with c. 5 key features shown, but with the option to compare selected options in more detail with more extensive information displayed (in a simple table display)
- In addition to comparison information, site will incorporate news and written content
- Ability to re-use the database for multiple sites
- C. 6 weeks development, for completion in mid September
- Incorporation of tracking codes (Google Webmaster, Google Analytics) plus outbound click tracking for GA
