Slide Navigation like on

To whom it may concern,

I'd like to develop a navigation on my site similar to what github use when you navigate through folders:

Therefore what I want is to basically create a site where you'll have that slide transition whenever you click the main navigation and the next page loads only after you click the button (or is preloading the other page only after the first page has been finished loaded is possible and a good idea?)

I'm using asp.net and DotNetNuke [url removed, login to view] (I'm thinking of updating to the latest version but I prefer to stick with this version at the moment) and I've built a sample structure to give you more idea:

I'm using jQuery for that and i know it's not a good idea as site will get very heavy if the content gets bigger and bigger so I'm hoping to find a solution that works, lightweight on multiple heavy pages and compatible with DNN too. Ajax perhaps? I'm not sure.

I've also attached the DNN skin just to get an idea on my working template.

Please don't worry about making the page pretty as i'll only require the source code.
