We use Five Filters, a third party web program that allows us to manually create a full-text RSS feed. The purpose of the full text RSS is to include all the text and comments from articles we write for other websites. Some of the web pages on these sites with our articles and comments are behind a login. There is an understanding that all these sites use JavaScript to write the comment fields. Since Javascript loads after the page PHP won't read it when fetching the HTML file and creating the DOM Document. A work around is needed for this.
Regarding pages with password protected article display, if the sites are hosted on Linux and Apache environment, one solution to test is mentioning the username and password for each domain in .htaccess file in order to access the articles; and once the users access it successfully, the same can be stored in cookies for future access. The access to the articles from the same domain will not be asked again unless the cookies are deleted by user. Please let me know if this solution works.
Links to the sites we write articles for will be provided to the winning bidder. Bidders must be able to deliver on time.
The following features need added:
1. Ability to generate full-text RSS feed using Five Filters, including comments.
2. Ability to generate full-text RSS feed using Five Filters, including article comments from web pages behind a login.
3. Ability for RSS feeds to be archived using, Arkovi at [url removed, login to view] without losing any data from the RSS feed.
Five Filters response to adding these features, "At the moment the only way to include comments is to write a custom site config file for the site which you'd like comments and specify the elements which should be extracted. E.g. body: //div[@id='content'] | //div[@id='comments']"
