Pt (1) - The Matlab script should be able to calculate the stiffness matrix of a two dimensional plane stress using (a) 3 noded and (b) 6 noded element as shown in Figure 1. (E = 100 GPa , v = 0.3 and thickness of plate is 2 mm)
Pt (2) - Extending the script as described in (1) to determine the displacement and strain in a thin plate consisting of 2 and 4, (a) 3 noded and (b) 6 noded triangular elements under uniform tension (Refer to Figure 2). E = 100 GPa , v = 0.3 and thickness of plate is 2 mm). The dimensions in Figure 2 cannot be changed. The mesh density needs to be increased from two elements to four elements
Pt 3 - Similar to Part 2 however, determine the displacement and strain based on four 6 noded triangular elements, (a) for three additional elastic modulus (b) for three additional loading conditions, i.e changing the loading direction from theta = 90 degrees. Other variables must be kept constant (Refer to Figure 2) .
