Project Title:DESIGN OF APNEAMONITORING SYSTEM
Description :
The monitoringofrespiration dynamics isanessentialdiagnostic tool in various clinicalenvironments, such as sleep diagnostics, intensivecareand neonatal monitoring. This paperintroduces a non- invasive method for monitoringthe respiratorypatternsofthepatientsand the specificationsofapnea monitorhardware. Themicrocontrollerbasedapnea monitor consistsofasensorsysteminterfaced witha microcontroller todetect the apnea from theheatchangesinthe oro-nazalair flow and the thoracic movementduring respiration.Theamplified signalobtained fromthepatient is applied to the microcontroller.After convertingthesignal intodigital form, itistransferredtothe computerbyusing theRS232serialportto make possibletoinvestigate theRespiration patterns.The systemallows adjustingtheapneaperiod forvarious applications. In tests, apnea period is selectedas10sec.And thesensedsignalis given tothelabviewvirtual softwareto obtain theresultantparameter forapnea monitoring. Also,an alarmsystem is availableto warnduringthesleepapnea. Performanceevaluation ofthesystemwas completedandsatisfactoryresults were obtained.The requirements for thesystem reducecostanddiscomfortassociated with traditional diagnostic procedures
Project Title : ‘Augmented Reclining Assist System’ Using LabView.
Description: Reclining Wheelchair with patient monitoring system which monitors the vital parameters like blood pressure, glucose level, pulse rate and respiration. Biotelemetry is used to contact the physician in case of emergency.
Application of the project:This project was to provide elderly people the
freedom of the movement and monitoring
their health continuously, it is also used for the physically challenged people.

Description : An Application Project using java determining the order of the nucleotides bases - adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine in a molecule of DNA.
Application Of The Project : Allows the diagnosis of genetic disease related to chromosome 4.

Industrial Visit and Implant Training
K.G Hospital, Coimbatore – In Plant Training. During this training I went to the various departments in three hospital and learnt what all instruments were used in their and how they operate. Also I got to the principle of working of these instruments.
Achievements and Courses Attended
• Completed a course on “MATLAB-Image Processing” conducted by Advetechpvt ltd, Coimbatore. Here I got to know the basics on how to use MATLAB for Image processing such as conversion to Black and white image and find the size of the images etc.
• Completed a course on “MEMS” conducted by [login to view URL], Coimbatore. Here in this program I had interaction with the software related to design of MEMS components such as COMSOL and COVENTAR. This wasa very useful program from which I learnt a lot.
