Resolve crystal reports issue on .Net/php website

Our website is primarily used to serve crystal reports to our clients. When the web server is restarted the crystal reports loose their connection to the database and prompt for credentials, which are actually built into the report. The problem is "resolved" by opening the report in crystal reports, selecting the same database again, setting the connection as trusted and then saving the report. I suspect the report is caching some sort of credentials that expire after a certain amount of time. Your mission would be to identify the problem that is occurring, educate our staff on how to avoid this problem in the future and assist in implementing the fix on our many reports.
