I have a business card sales website currently that uses php/mysql (cre loaded). I need a Web 2.0 design tool that will work just like [url removed, login to view] designer.
It should also be able to create designs for other size products such as postcards, brochures, etc...
It should allow customers to choose from our existing template backgrounds or upload their own backgrounds. Like vistaprint, Allow simple fill-in-blank design or optional Advanced designer. Allow option for customer to hire us to complete design. Allow customer to bookmark/favorite some designs to a dropbox or similar as found on [url removed, login to view] Allow online proof approval with watermark. Allow admin to view, edit, or download any designs that customer saved or purchased designs. Allow customers to view their text quickly on other card colors as on Vistaprint.
Needs to be a step by step design process as used on Vistaprint. Website design should match my existing website and be clean, crisp, professional quality.

Some bidders have mentioned using Flex. Not as familiar with flex, it may be fine. I like ajax.
Originally, I mentioned flash, but need to point out one issue we have had with current design tool...
Sometimes when we save a design it works perfect.
Other times it may move the font a few pixels when saving to the final print-ready PDF.
One programmer mentioned to me that it may be due to using flash or the flash version used. He did not test it to determine which version or if PDF generator, etc..
Do you have any experience with this problem?

I have looked at many example sites that bidders have sent. These sites are similar to what I already have (a one page designer).
I'm looking for something that has the step-by-step process just like VistaPrint.
1) Customer enters data into text fields on side of designer, and designer places them on the card in predefined area (NO DESIGN WORK IS NEEDED - no moving text around)
2) if customer does not like layout default, they can move the text boxes around
3) if needed, they can hit "Advanced Options" to go to another page where full toolbox (text, color, images, icons, etc) is available.
If you have examples of this type of function, please include those as well.
