Hope you are doing well!
A short background, I am a working professional currently residing in Dubai with about three years of professional experience since my graduation in 2015. I hold a First Class (Hons) bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queens University Belfast, UK. During my undergraduate studies and since, I have been working with startups ranging from an electric vehicle startup in India for my Internship right to an ed-tech startup in Dubai and am currently heading a product design firm/makerspace in Dubai. Through my career I have focused towards working with cutting-edge technology helping entrepreneurs fabricate their ideas right to mentoring entrepreneurs in feasibility studies. During all my previous roles, I have not only helped in the execution and operations but also with managing proposals, business development as well as marketing.
Taking a mighty step towards enhancing my skills as well as prospects, I have decided to undertake a masters course in the UK this fall. I am currently interested in working within the startup-corporate collaboration field while working on a project (potential startup) I have been working on. Hence, I have discerned two broad pathways:
1. Masters (MSc) in the management of innovation/entrepreneurship
2. Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
I have already scouted potential universities that fit well with my ambitions, goals as well as the one’s offering the best cultural fit for myself. I am mainly looking to attend a university in London and hence have shortlisted 5 universities (3 focusing on pathway 1 and 2 focusing on pathway 2) based on several factors.
As a personal statement is perhaps the most important piece of document through which I can talk to the decision makers, I have sought to employ a professional to help me polish/edit my work. Based on my pathways, I have currently drafted a Personal Statement primarily directed to my first university of choice and course (Goldsmiths, MSc Management of Innovation).
I have considered all the tips/tricks and guidelines while compiling my draft and hence have worked it out in a modular way in order to allow for minimal reworking to adjust it for all the universities I am considering. In essence, I require my personal statement draft to be enhances/edited/proofread and paraphrased if need be while keeping the overall uniqueness for Goldsmiths. Next, I would want it to be reworked (Academic Interests section) to fit it with the other two universities in pathway 1. Lastly, I would want some feedback as to whether I would need to rework my statement majorly to fit in with an MBA or if I can keep the theme (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) with minor edits (mainly in the Academic Interests section)
To support my personal statement and give you all the information needed and perhaps reducing some work at your end, I have compiled a ‘Personal Statement Supporting Facts’ document in which I have explained what I want to accomplish in further detail while providing research about each university, department and course. I have commented each part of the supporting document to help you understand what I want to convey and why it attracts me and so forth. At the end of the document, I have also linked my CV, LinkedIN profile as well as a brief overview of the entrepreneurial project I have been working on.
Finally, I have also heavily commented on my draft personal statement document named ‘PS Gold’ in order to help you better understand what I am trying to convey.
I understand and value the authenticity of the work and hence would want you to keep the personality while helping me edit it to reflect my motivations in the best way possible.
