We have an existing ASP.net / C# web application that manages appointments (Date, Time, Address, Description) for various users in a database. We show each user their appointments in an asp.net web page. From our web app, we need to expose the dynamic, periodically updated list of appointments to each users personal Google Calendar. I believe the solution is to create an iCal feed that can be consumed from each users Google calendar. We currently have the ability for a user to download a single appointment via an iCal file but we want it to be more dynamic and automated where they can see up-to-date information in their Google calendar.
Create a simple ASP.net/C# project that has hard coded data and hard coded iCal feed url for more than one user. Each user will be presented their own url which they can put into Google calendar.
The sample app has to demonstrate serving up the current set of appointments and to demonstrate updates/modifications to their appointments in each users Google calendar. Possible implementation is an iCal feed. The updates can be hard coded but in order to demonstrate some appointment data being updated and reflected in their Google calendar, some pieces of the hard coded data need to change over time to make sure that the updates are in fact being fed and updated in the users Google Calendar. The sample web application does not need to have to have a user interface but being able to show the current set of data and to also show the URL for each users iCal feed would be a benefit. If there are any user interfaces, they do not have to be polished or look pretty.
Requirements:
Do not use MVC, use forms
Support multiple users where each user has their own calendar fee URL.
Provide a unique URL/parameters for each user.
Each user will have a unique set of data. Data can be hard coded. Do not use a database.
Must demonstrate the ability to make updates to the set of data and have those updates be automatically reflected in the users Google Calendar.
Responses and bids must include a description of what what will be implemented to include a description of the best approach. iCal? Other technology?
