counting downloads / views (php / mysql)

Hi,

I have a website where teachers upload files for students to view or download.

Students can search on this page:

[[url removed, login to view]

a][1]nd results are displayed on this page:

[[url removed, login to view]

A][2]s you can see, next to the word "File:" is the actual document (stored in the uploads table)

TASK - Implement script changes on [url removed, login to view] which count the number of times the file is viewed or downloaded (or both if possible??)

I have also constructed a table (downloads\_and\_views) which is attached.

Please comment your code and let me know where code changes have been made.
