We hired someone to create a custom module to import our products into Drupal 7 Ubercart (ca. 5,500 individual items) and to create the "displays" of these products, the special searches, etc. He was also to explain to us how the product fields were arrived at so we can further develop more Views and Product displays ourselves; he also was to set up Ubercart completely so the shopping cart was a working shopping cart. Looking at it in the backend it's almost completed from what we can see.
We export a cvs file from FileMaker with custom fields for the Ubercart and displays. This file then has to populate the "Products". The person has created a php script which is partially working but does not import all of the cvs file, and the fields are not right (do not display as we explained and want them to display [think it's a "mis-match" of the fields].
This person has abandoned the job while taking a lot of our money, and we don't have the knowledge of php ourselves to finish it. We believe that someone with great php knowledge and very familiar with Ubercart, probably could fairly easily see what is wrong and what needs changing. The person who created the script appeared to us to not have the level of skills originally told to us.
We have been "bitten by a dog" and need some concrete re-assurances that the next person we hire will have the skills, knowledge and desire to complete the job in the stated amount of time.
