PR Specialist for Epic Youth Creek Journey

I am in need of an experienced Public Relations specialist to support a digitally-led marketing campaign, by generating statewide media mainstream coverage and earned social media content, for an epic youth journey.

This campaign acknowledges key insights from Gen Z that may limit their capacity to participate in the outdoors confidently. It attempts to show that this generation are in fact capable, by recruiting the least likely candidates and offering two successful applicants the opportunity to do an epic creek journey all the way from a regional city to the river. The two finalists will receive a significant cash prize upon completion of the journey and challenges along the way.

The pre-promotion of this epic journey involves an online phase to raise awareness, drive registrations, and canvass Gen Z and their ability to fulfill this mission with a sense of pride, awakening and nose-thumbing!

Campaign Objectives are:

To form a mutually beneficial relationship with Upper Gen Z that will guide our future attempts to engage them.

Inspiration for this project has been from the Alone TV series, and YouTubers Beau Miles and Mr Beast.

The campaign's target audience is the middle-upper range of Gen, aged between 17-23 years. PR specialist should have:

- Previous experience in developing and implementing successful PR campaigns, ideally for youth. Outdoor environments would be a bonus.

- Top skills in content creation, digital marketing, and social media targeting strategy.

- A solid understanding of the youth demographic.

- Proven relationships with key Melbourne media outlets, including contemporary news programs including The Project and ABC programs such as BTN High.

Your responsibility will range from creating the narratives for the campaign, contributing to storyboards, driving earned social media participation, attending planning weekly meetings, managing media relations, to analyzing the campaign performance by providing real-time monitoring and reporting. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the statewide media's continual coverage and creating a lasting impact on the youth. So, join us and let's inspire the youth to value nature.

This campaign aims to reconnect youth with nature, promoting the appreciation of nature and the personal benefits of outdoor activities.

Phase 1 <26th February

Phase 2 26th Feb – 16th March – Recruitment Drive (Key online period)

Phase 3 25th Mar – 30th March - Expedition (Key on-ground coverage period)
