Php usenet script update

I have code that needs to be updated. There are about 6 php files in the system.

I need to clean it up and optimize it. I need to ensure that it does multi-threading.. currently its using [url removed, login to view] but I am not sure that is the best way to go. I also want to ensure that once the script finishes all the newsgroups in the groups table, it starts over. I am running a linux 64bit server and am able to install something if its needed to get this working. I can also run it via a shell script too.

The script gets content from usenet, currently, it grabs each subject and when you search, it lists each one. I want to group them together like [url removed, login to view] does.

This is a small personal project but might lead to more corporate work. I am looking for this to be completed within about 5 days. I can give you the code and database .sql file. You would need to run it on your test box since I can't give out ssh access. However, the script normally runs via ssh within the terminal and the search piece runs on the web. This is a private project though not for the general public.
