Fix little bug with "Read more" "Read less" JS code, that add a letter to the sentence

I have a JS function (20 lines of code) that automatically appends "..." and a "read more" / "read less" link.
The issue is when clicking the "read less" link it seems to have cloned incorrect and a letter is added to the original sentence.
I can provide the code and LIVE example of the issue.
