Chief Operating Officer

Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Alternative Bank (Consultant & Full-Time)

Company Overview: CRB Money. an innovative and forward-thinking alternative bank, is set to launch in April 2024, redefining the banking landscape with a focus on providing sustainable and customer-centric financial solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join us as a consultant in the early stages and subsequently transition into a full-time leadership role.

Location: Hybrid / London (prior to launch)

Requires living in the UK.

Preferred Language Skills: Proficiency in Portuguese is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Early Stage Consulting (Pre-Launch):

1. Collaborate with the executive team to shape the operational strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.

2. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify key opportunities, challenges, and trends in the alternative banking sector.

3. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

4. Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance, risk management, and industry best practices.

Post-Launch Full-Time Role:

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bank, ensuring seamless and compliant functioning of all departments.

2. Lead and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

3. Work closely with the technology and product teams to optimize and enhance the bank's digital infrastructure, ensuring a user-friendly and secure customer experience.

4. Implement and refine operational KPIs, regularly monitoring and reporting on performance metrics to the executive team.

5. Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to manage and optimize the budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.

6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

7. Lead strategic initiatives to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall customer experience.

8. Act as a key liaison between the executive team, various departments, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or in a senior operational role within the banking or financial services sector.

2. Strong understanding of alternative banking models, fintech trends, and regulatory landscapes, with specific knowledge of the Portuguese market being highly advantageous.

3. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

4. Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into actionable operational plans.

5. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.

6. Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, fluent in both English and Portuguese.

7. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.

Salary / Payment for services

Prior to the official launch of our company, please note that the salary for the position mentioned is subject to negotiation. While we are eager to attract the best talent, we recognize that individual circumstances and expertise vary.

In the interim period leading up to our launch, we will provide a fixed payment for adhoc services rendered. This temporary arrangement is intended to compensate for specific tasks or contributions made during this pre-launch phase.
