We need help getting US Census Tract data converted to KML and into a database for all US states.
1) Converting US Census 2010 Shape files to KML.

2) Shapes should be simplified to reduce the number of points without losing too much accuracy. We simplify at approx. 75%
There are a number of free tools to simplify shapes.

3) Storing data in a table (preferably MySQL but could be other formats that we can import into MySQL). Please see the attached .sql file for sample database. The table stores comma separated latitude and longitude values. The FIPS code is to be the record identifier.
NOTE A census tract could be made up of multiple shapes, in this case an entry would go into the table for each shape with FIPS code being repeated.
