I am currently in post-production on a film I shot called Karma and in need of VFX for the film. There are a few shots I am looking to have VFX on (and will hold multiple contests for this - one is already live right now) and this is one important set of shots revolving around a face which gives rise to the monster beneath.

I have attached an ungraded clip of shots where the VFX is used.

The VFX I am looking for is in the realm of fantasy - we are looking at the world from the point of view of a mentally unstable individual who sees someone's face (the male actor) turn into a monster.

I have attached a video file showing the 5 moments where it is hinted:

Shot 1 - when the actor looks at us and speaks his face becomes terrifying for the rest of the shot.

Shot 2 - same scene, the actor's face is still a monster for that first second (he then looks away so we won't need vfx anymore).

Shot 3 - The actor's face flashes into that of a monster then returns to normal before he starts kicking us. (It lasts about 1 second, if not less)

Shot 4 - When the actor turns away his face becomes a monster once more.

Shot 5 - when the actor's face goes out of focus his face becomes a monster for the rest of the scene.

The key point here is all these shots are being seen from the point-of-view of an unstable person, so that monster element is in the realm of fantasy but he still looks human to some extent.

If you have a different approach I am open to them as I want you to bring your creative side out.

Film has not been graded yet so final output should not be seared into the footage (i.e. I want to lay your VFX work on the final shot we have once it has been graded).

The winner will also receive a credit in the movie.

Contest is guaranteed so cash prize will be given, although I reserve the right not to give a film credit if the shot is not used (depending on the quality of entries although this has never been an issue).

  Hi, it is warping the face - we see him as normal at first then show him becoming a monster as part of this delusion.
