XML and SMIL university assignment

There are 4 parts to this assignment. The first two parts are about XML and the other two parts are about SMIL. The assignment is due on Thursdays, November 1, 2018 at noon timezone (EST Ontario). PART I – XML 1. a) Create a XML file that will contain important data from your favourite book, video game or movie. The data must be clearly identifiable through the tags you choose and related content must be well nested. Your XML file is expected to have a minimum of 75 lines and should contain no errors. Use references as needed. 2. b) Find an application in your everyday life that uses XML. Write a 500-word analysis that contains: 1. The purpose of the XML file 2. A breakdown of the different tags in the file. 3. Your own opinion; is this file well written? Is it easy to understand? Why? 4. A visual representation of the XML file (screenshot) within the application you chose. (eg: settings). PART II – SMIL 1. a) Create a SMIL application that will be used as an online portrayal of an IMD1000/ITEC1100 course lecture. The primary focus is on the layout and consideration of possible features. The secondary focus is on the accuracy of the content. Use any media type necessary and fill the application with any extra content to show your concepts off. Make sure that your SMIL animation is substantial. You should be covering the important points in the lecture you chose. Explain what is it about your design that might make the material more attractive to other students vs. the boring lecture I gave. Explain your design criteria, and show that you followed a user centered design process.
