Create a new e-commerce site for very complex products - Insect and Security Screens and doors.

Stage 1 will be to create an e-commerce website for insect and security screens and doors. (stage 2 will be another site for Plantation Shutters and possibly stage 3 will be another site for Blinds) Despite the complexity and variability of the products we sell, the site must by super fast for clients to order or obtain a quote with the ability to be able to key enter and place and order / quote for 50 different products in less than 5 minutes. My business currently uses an Excel based order / pricing workbook that I programmed myself but it's too clunky and only suitable for internal use. But it's fast to process an order of 20 or so screens and/or doors and I need the e-commerce website to be just as fast if not faster for trade and retail clients to use to place orders or get quotes. Speed and ease of ordering is critical because this will be touted as one of our competitive advantages over our online competition. We sell about 20 different styles of screens and doors each with their own options list that could be 100's of different options long. The site will NOT be product number driven. It will need multiple drop down and check boxes for available options depending upon the product selections made. These are complex products that are fully custom made with multiple sizes and options per piece with preceding and proceeding options dependent upon selections made while "building" the line item based upon individual product driven restrictions and constraints. And all of this building of a line item needs to be achievable within a matter of seconds not enter some size details and then wait for page 2 to load and then proceed to page 3 for more options, only to get to page 4 before it's added to the shopping cart and then have to go right back to the start to order the next line item - this takes far too long and is why my online competition is failing. Imagine having to order over 100 slightly different items this way. You may be there for an hour getting a quote or placing an order and my trade clients will not accept this inefficient use of their time. This is to be both a wholesale and retail price quote calculating and order site with a login for all clients having a individualised product price customisation dependent upon the clients discount structure - which can be different and product dependant or even product type or style or even order quantity size dependant. Clients need to see their order history. Site needs to coordinate freight and logistics as well as send extrusion and sheet cutting list information to the manufacture department. Cut lists must be optimised to minimise off cuts or calculate the best most efficient way to cut each job lot from the available aluminium extrusion lengths (of various length sizes depending upon the extrusion and supplier purchased). As well as optimising sheets / rolls of insect mesh and security grille per job lot or grouping job lots (multiple order grouping) together to further improve manufacturing inefficiencies and reduce waste the site must produce stock order sheets and the facility to later include an order tracking so the client can login and see where their product is in the production and distribution cycle (we can't do this yet but we will need to to stop clients constantly calling asking "where's my job...is it finished yet?") Everything must be geared around the client entering all of the details so we never have to key any details in again for any orders (eliminating keying errors) and allowing the establishment of a manufacturing workstation / work stage / order stage set up etc so that orders flow through the order, manufacture, packing and distribution stages without ANY additional keying or work input required with the desired result that a client CANNOT blame us for any keying or data entry errors as we will never be required to key an order in.
