Whom I look for? I am looking for an experienced English to Spanish translator. Requirements: Work area: software marketing and promotion. Desired experience: Experience in CAT tools. If you have such experience, please specify what CAT you are using. Website localization(DNN CMS localization will be a plus). I would like to see your portfolio. What is this project about? I want add Spanish localization to my web-site. Website built with DNN content management system. First of all, I need to validate English content before moving to translation. Then I need to translate content to spanish. To make sure that content is of a good quality, I am going to invite one more translator for proofreading, and probably, one more, for validation. What is the scope? This is the first phase. Around 3000 words expected. I will provide you with CAT tool that designed for DNN CMS content localization. You’ll need to use this tool for all types of work. Additional bonus: After work is done, I will ask you for a feedback about this CAT tool. What was good or bad, and what can be improved? Hi there, I'm an Italian and Spanish native speaker. I'm new to the this website that's why I don't have many feedbacks. I have a bachelor in Interpreting and Translation Spanish/English at Università Ca' Foscari, plus I lived 2 years in Australia and 6 months in Zaragoza where I got my D.E.L.E. C2 Español. I've been translating for 4 years, websites, webzines, apps, blogs, newspaper articles, novels, poetry, legal documents, and technical documents such as manuals or books. Considering everything, I can translate from English to Italian, Spanish to Italian, English to Spanish and of course vice versa. My rates usually sway between $0.015 and $0.03 per word but it just depends on the project, repetitions, the nature of the translation and all that. So we can set a fixed price depending on the job. In your case, translating and proofreading, I propose a price of $100. I think my price is quite fair for a professional translation of that kind. When I undertake a job, I'm very meticulous and always challenging myself to get the best translation, correcting and reading it over and over because it's not just important to translate with no spelling and grammar mistakes but it's very important convey the culture between the two languages. Dear Sirs: I consider that for a good translation, it is necessary to master both languages in their actual use, not only using a dictionary. It must sound and be read as naturally as the original text, while conveying the message the author had in mind. My academic background teaching both English and Spanish, as well as my experience in translation will be a great asset for this project. I can translate from English to Spanish to English. I have been teaching English at University level for 15 years, and translating different kinds of documents for 13 years. I consider I have an excellent academic English, including an excellent writing style. I learned English from native speakers at a completely bilingual school in Mexico City. I am a Certified Translator in Mexico, appointed by the State Supreme Court in Veracruz. I consider that so-called translators that charge extremely cheap are the ones that use some kind of software or automatic translators. For a local speaker of the language, it sounds terrible. I never use those translators. In fact, I usually look in encyclopedia and books related to the topic so I won't even use new terms, but the ones that might already be "standard" in that area.
