Hi, we are an industrial design studio experienced working with this process. For many projects we use 3d modeling in mesh softwares that then need to be sent to engineering in formats red in solidworks. We've developped our own way of doing it, using various softwares to optimise the process. I propose a test project, for both of us to understand completely the process and workflow, so we can give you an accurate quote. Hi, I am an experienced mechanical engineer. I have extensive knowledge of 3D CAD and solidworks. I can convert your files from .stl to .sldprt and .sldasm files. For a project like this, I would like to be compensated by the hour. Due to the uncertainty in your description, my bid represents 80 hours of my labor @ 35/hr. If the project does not take that long, I will be glad to bill you only the time that I have invested in the conversion. At 1.9 million facets, and $2800 @ $35/hour translates into 396 facets per min. However if this project is much more involved, I would ask that you pay per hour.
