My PhD was in natural language processing (parsing Welsh language text), so even if your project is a little more complicated than it sounds from the brief description you give, I should be well able to handle it. I'm just starting freelancing after a long career gap but don't worry, I have kept my hand in writing programs for my own use in the last few years. I'm bidding at the low end because I think your project would be fun for me, and because I'm starting out here and need a few good reviews before I can charge more. If you accept my bid, I will need these details from you: 1. How your scoring system works - does every word score 1 point or are some words worth more than others? 2. How do you want the paragraph to be input, do you want to run the program and then type in a paragraph, or do you have the paragraphs already typed in and saved in a file somewhere? 3. Any further definite ideas you have about what the output should contain or look like. 3. If the language is not in a similar font to English, advice on which characters belong in words and which are word delimiters or punctuation would be helpful, but probably I can look this up.
