Lua/Python Programming for lighting control

We are working on a project that is nearing completion and we need another programmer to help finish it in the next before Nov 14th. The project consists of hardware that sends wireless signals to control light fixtures and it executes scripts written in the Lua programming language to process switch presses and send the appropriate commands to the individual light fixtures via wireless commands. A programmer familiar with Python could probably pick up Lua quickly enough to be useful on the project as there is a significant code based to build upon.
