You need to make 10 professional slides, each slide containing mostly images or figures, no thick text. Each slide needs to have enough content for 60 seconds of speaking (the total time for the talk is 10 min). Each slide needs to have fully written-up speaker notes, around 500-700 words per slide, so that the speaker can read them out when delivering the talk. Topic: How (not to) invest into technology ventures. The talk will give a broad overview of: - methods of hedging against IP volatility - technology valuation for investment purposes - case studies of successful and not so successful tech investments Description: The talk will take the audience on a casual journey around the tech investment world from the perspective of a scientist turned investment consultant well experienced on both sides of the deal. The causes and the results of IP volatility will be pointed out alongside a number of real business examples of success and failure. Finally the methods of technology valuation for investment purposes will be outlined and typical errors pointed out. The talk is aimed to be of use to investors and M&A professionals as well as companies interested in transferring or licensing IP.
