Write an Android application

This project is for the development of a two-player mathematical game played with numbers on a board (in some ways like chess). Moving one's number onto an opponents number causes a calculation, a change in the value of the number on that square and certain attributes of that number. The board display is then updated on that square accordingly. (Full details to be given later.) I am seeking to develop: a) an interactive app (mobile and desktop) for people to play the game against the computer (with a two-person option); and b) A website or client/server program enabling human players to play the game against each other over the internet. These projects can be done separately and programmers and developers can bid for either - or both (if they think themselves qualified). I am not looking for the lowest bidder, but rather for the best qualified. The App An app of the game for the Android, iOs and Windows platforms in which people can play these games against the computer. The computer will play the game using a brute force algorithm. The move-decision function/class of the algorithm will: a) Be recursive so it can evaluate both the computer's moves and the player's possible replies - down to a ply level that the player has previously set in a "Strength" screen. The maximum strength/ply-depth shall be determined by time considerations - to be discussed with the programmer. b) Evaluate the best moves by a simple arithmetical operation to be described in the full spec. c) Return the best move and its evaluation to the calling function. Monetizing The apps will be monetized by click-ads and a low-price ad-free version. A website + plug-ins for Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, IE, Opera and Safari or alternatively standalone pair of client/server programs in which people can: a) watch other people's games (unless game has been set to private by tournament organizers) b) register as members (for payment) and having registered: ◦ play against other members ◦ participate in tournaments of various types (see below) ◦ create both knock-out and elimination competitions ◦ join local and regional groups and tournament leagues ◦ form and administer regional groups (if given moderator status) The tournament types will include: • round robin (everyone plays everyone) • double round robin (everyone plays everyone twice, as white and as black) • Swiss type (players play those with similar number of points) • Elimination (knock-out) tournament It is a matter for discussion between the customer and the developer/programmer whether this part of the project should best be achieved by a website and plug-ins for the various major browsers or by a pair of internet client-server programs (for PC, MAC, Linux, Android and iOS). Finally, although these two projects may be bid for and worked on separately, it is necessary that the Android, iOS and Windows client programs (or plug-ins) be included in the respective mobile apps. Bidding and bidders At this stage, I am seeking bidders to state their qualifications, hourly rates and their initial appraisal of the number of hours involved based upon the information contained herein. I will not seek a firm commitment from the programmer(s) until they have seen and had a chance to review the full spec.
