This is a simple request to build a simple website. I am about to publish a book on Amazon, and need a simple “author’s page” for people to link to. This web site will consist of approximately 9 separate sections: 1. Home page, 2. Book page, 3. Author’s biography page, 4. Blog, 5. FAQs, 6. Interview with the author. 7. Critic quotes. 8. Artwork development page, 9.Contact.
Each of these pages will be quite short – one page only in most cases.
It MUST be visually simple and make it easy for visitors to buy the book, or link to the Amazon website.
I will write all the text, supply all the photos as well as photos and scans of the artwork, front page, rear page and inner cover (probably about 20 pictures in all).
I own the relevant domain name as a .com and a .co.uk. I will set up a gmail account very soon.
I’m keen on being contactable via the website’s blog page, which it is my intention to regularly update. I have NEVER done a blog, so will need clear guidance as to how to proceed with this aspect.
As for the look of the website this needs to be kept simple. The title of the book is “The Light”, so I’m thinking of using part of the cover that shows the light, as a background to each page. I've uploaded the cover art, which gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.
I would be happy to build this website myself, but struggle for time. I am hoping this can be done within a few days. Functionality of the website is crucial. Once the freelancer has been awarded this contract, I will forward all text and photos/pictures/scans etc, with a layout example, for the freelancer to construct.
