Hi, I don't think this is suitable for a shared Hostgator account. Hostgator shared host does not support Python and it is the best language to scrape websites. The Scrapy framework is the best framework for scraping websites in Python. I propose to build a windows app that will come with a service which can be installed on your computer. I will build it on .Net using a scraping framework. And the data could be output in several formats.

I am ready for the challenge. I'm experienced in webscraping. Your 5 seconds per product_id is not something you can specify - the processing doesn't even take a quarter of a second, so the rest of the time is determined by how long gamestop takes to answer... so if it's one second, we won't need much longer than one second per product_id. Also I'm not sure where the zip code comes from? Do you have another table with zip codes of alle Gamestops or is it a single zip per product_id? Also, scheduling this via cronjob can be a problem, because doing it like this, without having a website open in a browser, which can refresh itself, the script will run into the execution time limit and be terminated after a few products... and when the script execution time is limited to 30secs and you can only schedule a cronjob every 15mins, you see how this would hinder the throughput of your system. To have a well running system, I'd recommend at least a VPS or running the script on a server in your office and connect to the mysql table or open the scraper as a website in a browser - then the script can run fon 20sec and refresh the page itself to continue running without being terminated. Technologies: Python+Selenium+PhantomJS Will be able to schedule the task using cronjob(linux) or a task scheduler(windows) but this will check pid tracker file of already execute script before running the new one since multiple instances of phantomjs is heavy on RAM consumption.
