Display information from a mysql database

Hello, We need a simple, standard and secure php code that will allow us to display some information from a MySQL database based on today's date. The database connect file should be separate file. As an example, the data in the table has a DATE column for each event and the php file should display only the first 5 events based on whether or not the event date has expired. We have an event calendar elsewhere an would just like to show the upcoming 5 events on our homepage. The data should be displayed very cleanly and without data table lines. The top row of the output should be a light grey and show EVENT and DATE and LINK. The EVENT result will come from the Name column in the database The DATE result will come from the Date column in the database The LINK result should be set to [login to view URL]<ID> WHERE <ID> is populated by the ID column from the database for that row so that the link results in (for example) [login to view URL]<ID> when clicked We will not be able to grant you access to our database at this time. *** The output display should be very modern and clean looking. Your PHP will be iframed onto our homepage. We will need someone who can start on this and complete it right-away. Please let me know if you have any questions Thank you
