Hi,
I need a site that will basically be a promotional hub for a graphic novel that’s going to be finished soon. The idea is to have a small, easy to navigate, responsive site that showcases the visual content of the comic.
I have a WordPress installation and site already – but it’s completely untouched. What I need is roughly envisaged in the PPT attached, but the key things are:
- A simple menu at the top of the screen in a transparent bar or sitting over the top of the full screen image.
- A full screen image on the home page: the kind of thing you see on full-screen, responsive WordPress themes. This will be the poster for the graphic novel, which contains its title.
- A small number of pages. “Home”; “Trailer” (a page with either a full screen YouTube player, or an embedded large sized YouTube video player; “Gallery” (with light-box for selected images and the ability to have password protected images), “Blog” (just a standard blog)).
- The ability to have some audio playing on the site.
- A footer with social media buttons, an email sign-up and perhaps a countdown clock plugin.
The more general requirements are:
- Responsive / adaptive to accommodate viewing on tablet / mobile, as well as desktop machines.
- Should work in all normal versions of Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari.
- Page load time should be as fast as possible.
- Some SEO optimisation.
- The ability to translate into different languages (not essential).
- A WordPress site that leaves me with the ability to easily: choose the main full screen image; control the audio content; choose the video on the trailer page; find out who has signed up to the email list; add or remove images from the gallery; use the blog etc. without having to come back to you for any of these things
Ideally, you will have created a responsive, full screen site before and so have a good idea how to make what I have laid out in the PowerPoint work across all different screen sizes. The full screen background that I want to use (the poster-style image for the graphic novel that my artist has drawn) looks great and it is important that it looks good on all devices – this is super important.
