Intercompany Module Our System Architecture Company A and B are two legal entities and each company has its own database which operate independent of each other Business Scenarios • Employees must be able to view Item Master Data from both databases regardless of which database they are logged into. This includes stock quantities, prices, promotion and incoming shipment details, WH bin location data etc. • Customer and Vendor Databases remain separate. The following describe business scenarios. Scenario 1 User logged in to Company A raises a sales order for a Company A customer who wishes to purchase: • 1 Company A item (located in WH1) • 1 Company B item (located in WH1) When the employee adds the Sales Order to the system, the stock data in Company A and Company B Item Master Data should adjust accordingly i.e • 1 Company A item now committed to Company A customer • 1 Company B item now committed to the same Company A customer. When the sales order to Company A customer has been added, the IC add-on should create a Sales Order from Company B to Company A for the items which belong to Company B. The stock must be committed at the moment the sales order to Company A customer is added. This must also happen in reverse i.e. Employee raises a sales order for a Company B customer who wishes to purchase • 1 Company A item (located in WH1) • 1 Company B item (located in WH1) Picking The orders will now need to be picked. The pick list generated should be location based. A picker at WH1 will pick all orders for items located at WH1 regardless of whether the product belongs to Company A or Company B. Scenario 2 Employee raises a sales order for a Company A customer who wishes to purchase: • 1 Company A item (located in WH1) • 1 Company B item (located in WH1) • 1 Company B item (located in WH2) Upon adding the Sales Order to the system, the IC module should create a purchase order for the items belonging to Company B, in this case this: • 2 Company B items Picking The picking list is location based so the picker at WH1 should see that they have to pick: • 1 Company A Item • 1 Company B item And the picker at WH2 will see that he has to pick • 1 Company B item At the end of any period we wish to choose, the IC module should generate an A/P Invoice in Company A and an A/R Invoice in Company B for all IC trade which happened during this time. We should also be able to offset the balances between the two companies after any given time we choose. If Company A owes Company B £400 and Company B owes Company A £200, there should only be an invoice of £200 to Company B. Scenario 3 A Company A customer returns a Company B item from the Sales Order we created in Scenario 1. The user will raise a credit note to the Company A customer for Company B’s item. The IC module should automatically generate a credit note from Company B to Company A and the stock should be returned to Company B’s Item Master data.
